Background:

 

The Marina is approximately 40 years old and periodic maintenance is required to ensure it is fit for use. A condition of marina operation is that all ongoing maintenance of the facility is borne by the owner (CBBC). 

 

So far, we have completed stages 1 & 2 of refurbishment on the Long Jetty using Goolwa Jetty Builders. The next stages (3, 4 and 5) are to refurbish the main runway of the Marina (Finger Jetty) and the untreated section of the long arm jetty similar in cost and effort. 

 

– Stage 3 (green) is planned for Feb 2025

 

– Stage 4 (blue) is planned for 2026

 

 

Recent inspection of the marina and jetty has revealed that it is in poor condition and at risk of closure.

 

At the Committee Meeting on 15 Mar 25 it was decide that the Club should proceed with stages 3, 4 and 5 and that a quote should be obtained as soon as possible to facilitate the CBBC General Meeting to assess the proposal.

 

Following provision of a quote (QU-0420 dated 28 Mar 25) for the works the CBBC Executive proposes the following:

 

–       Work Packages:

o   Part 1 – Stage 5 – Old Section of Long Arm Jetty Replacement 

o   Part 2 – Stage 3 & Stage 4 – Finger Jetty Runway Deck & centre rail/joist replacement.

 

–       Payment schedule is yet to be determined; however, may include payments as follows:

o   Payment 1 provides for procurement of materials.

 

o   Payment 2 when works complete on the first component (Part 1).

 

o   Payment 3 when works complete on the second component (Part 2).

 

–       Works to commence as soon as practicable.
